The current policy requires reservations for all dining, opens bookings up to 90 days ahead, and limits parties to six. Patio and dining-room tables are for full dining, so do not reserve one solely for drinks and a sunset photograph. Request your preferred seating, then ask whether that specific location is confirmed rather than assuming every booking promises the same view.
Pack dinner clothes: the posted dress code excludes hiking attire, sports caps, flip-flops and several other casual items. The restaurant also posts a 3% business fee. Read the official Mariposa reservation and dress policy before committing; a hiking afternoon followed by a change at your hotel works better than arriving straight from the trail.
Che Ah Chi: a canyon dinner at Enchantment
Che Ah Chi sits at Enchantment Resort in Boynton Canyon, away from the central dining streets. Its modern American menu draws on Arizona ingredients; the current dinner selection includes whipped ricotta with Hatch chilies, seasonal vegetable dishes and more substantial meat and seafood preparations. This is a good evening to leave generous time for the meal and the drive.

The Hudson: a relaxed meal with an important patio catch
The Hudson is at Hillside Sedona, 671 State Route 179, Suite D. It is south of Tlaquepaque, rather than in Uptown or on the 89A dining strip. The American menu makes it easier to have a less formal date: share bruschetta, choose a burger, or make the meal more elaborate with steak and seafood.
The distinction to understand before booking is that reservations cover the main dining room only. The patio, lounge and bar are first come, first served. If your whole plan depends on a patio view, an indoor reservation is not a substitute for that table. Allow flexibility or choose another restaurant where the requested seating can be discussed in advance.
The menu checked in September 2026 listed a $22 cheeseburger and a $58 prime filet, before drinks, tax and gratuity. Cress on Oak Creek is at L’Auberge de Sedona, 301 L’Auberge Lane, below the Uptown road beside the water. Its appeal is the creek and the trees, rather than a broad red-rock panorama. It suits an anniversary dinner when you want the setting to slow the evening down.
Reservations are strongly recommended; dinner currently runs daily from 5 to 9 p.m., with 9 p.m. the last seating. Ask specifically about creekside placement and the indoor alternative if the weather changes. Creekside does not mean private. The resort advertises separate private-dining venues through an event inquiry; a normal restaurant reservation does not buy exclusive space. René is inside Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village at 336 State Route 179, Suite B118. Choose it for an afternoon of galleries followed by a French and Mediterranean dinner, rather than a drive to a panorama. The courtyard adds another atmosphere to the evening; its availability depends on weather and seating, so request it when reserving.
This can be a substantial fine-dining meal. The currently linked menu includes Dover sole, roast duck, steak and a separate three-course prix fixe. That optional menu lists $120 for sea bass, $145 for prime ribeye and $156 for steak and lobster, with a $68 wine pairing addition. The à la carte menu also lists a 3% surcharge for credit-card payments, with debit cards exempt. If you want its chocolate soufflé, that menu asks you to order it with your entrée. Elote's current address is 350 Jordan Road in Uptown. Older references to its Highway 179 location can send you to the wrong part of town. This is the choice for couples excited about modern Mexican and Southwestern flavors, rather than those choosing primarily by terrace scenery.
The restaurant requires reservations and accepts them up to 60 days ahead. It serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m.; do not make it your Sunday or Monday plan. Use the official Elote reservation page once your dates are known, rather than counting on a walk-in table.
The menu checked in September 2026 listed the namesake corn elote at $11, brisket enchiladas at $33 and lamb adobo at $42. Dahl & Di Luca at 2321 West State Route 89A is the classic Italian choice in this group. Its West Sedona location makes it a natural dinner plan if that is where you are staying.
Its current reservation service requires a credit card to hold the booking; follow the confirmation instructions or the reservation may be canceled. The enforced dress code is business casual or better, excludes athletic wear and printed T-shirts, and asks men to avoid open-toed shoes. This is a dinner to change for after a hike. Cucina Rustica: an Italian evening on the south side
Cucina Rustica is at The Collective in the Village of Oak Creek, 7000 State Route 179, Suite 126A. Its villa-inspired rooms and Italian-Mediterranean cooking suit a date after a Bell Rock-area day, especially when your accommodation is already on that side of Sedona. From Uptown, allow time for the Highway 179 drive and traffic rather than treating it as a quick walkable dinner.
The menu offers different ways to spend: the current ordering menu lists penne Bolognese at $26, a chicken-and-mushroom garganelli dish at $30 and filet at $52. It also posts a 3% business operations fee. Confirm the dine-in menu for your date, because an online ordering menu is a useful indication rather than a guarantee of every dining-room offering.
The dress policy is casual and refined: clean T-shirts and shorts in good repair are allowed, while athletic tank tops, basic flip-flops and cutoffs are excluded. It differs from Dahl & Di Luca’s stricter code. Request your preferred room or patio and ask how weather affects outdoor seating. For Mariposa and Elote, the published booking windows give you a concrete starting point: up to 90 and 60 days respectively. For a milestone dinner elsewhere, reserve as soon as your trip dates are settled. Mention the occasion, but ask separately about any flowers, special dessert or private arrangement; writing “anniversary” in the notes is not an agreement to provide extras.
Read the cancellation and no-show terms displayed on the actual reservation before confirming. A hotel cancellation policy is not the restaurant policy, and a standard dinner menu may not apply on a holiday. Thanksgiving and other special evenings can have set menus, different prices and automatic gratuities.
When red rocks are the reason you chose a restaurant, check sunset for your travel date and plan to arrive while the scenery is visible. In winter that can favor an earlier dinner. René labels some preparations vegan on request; Elote's cheese relleno is not a vegan fallback.
